Monday Quiz About Me

Welcome to Monday Quiz About Me! Here are FOUR QUESTIONS that everyone can answer and then you have the option to add a fifth question of your own for those who are visiting your blog to answer in the comment section, along with commenting on the four standard questions you answered!

Acting Balanced

This week's questions are:
1. What is the nicest thing someone has done for you on your birthday?
2. What is the funniest thing that ever happened to you while you were on a date?
3. What is your favorite backhanded compliment?
4. Have you ever had someone guest blog for you? If so, how was the experience?

My Answers:
1. What is the nicest thing someone has done for you on your birthday?
The nicest thing that was ever done on my birthday was by my mom.  She would  allow me to stay home that day and open one Christmas present (my birthday is the 16th of December).  She would also make me breakfast and let me lounge in my pj's all day.

2. What is the funniest thing that ever happened to you while you were on a date?
Um...well....the only thing I can think of that was funny (at least to me) was when a friend of an ex-boyfriends walked in  on us during the least opportune time.  I fell into a fit of the giggles and he swore and chucked anything within reach at his friend.

3. What is your favorite backhanded compliment?
I don't really have one.

4. Have you ever had someone guest blog for you? If so, how was the experience?
No, I haven't had that pleasure.

Question #5
Have you ever met a famous person?
I got to meet Karl Malone in Vegas once.  And I also got to meet Stacy Q and Jermaine Stewart before a concert.  Oh and now that I'm thinking about it....Sean Elliott and Steve Kerr while they where both U of A students!

  2. I've met Molly O'Keefe - through my mom, and I once accidentally met Mitt Romney when he was campaigning for the Republican nod in 2008... went to lunch with my MIL and he showed up at the restaurant we were eating at for a Whistlestop...

I was a student teacher in Jim Cuddy's (Blue Rodeo) son's class... so I met him a few times... and I'm sure I'm forgetting a few encounters...

  3. I have got to meet plenty of famous people working in the hospitality industry. The sad part is that you can't say anything about them to others.

  8. I love what you were allowed to do for your birthday! That sounds like an awesome tradition.

As for famous people, I've met a few authors at signings. I'm a big geek, so before kids, I used to go to a lot of conventions. My favorite author meeting, however, was Peter David. He's long been one of my favorite authors. And later, I got to be friends with his wife, who is one of the nicest ladies I've ever had the honor to be friends with.

  9. Sometimes you just have to laugh to fend off embarrassment? It works for me too!

As far as "famous people" goes, I worked in the media and 2 season for a major league baseball ream. I've worked with lots of people that are "famous" or "stars," but they were just peers or coworkers and most of them normal people, except that the athletes don't have to actually grow up, but a lot of them do by 30 or so.
